ABOUT THE STUDIO

Tripletake Productions was founded by Dorothy ann Gould, Michael Maxwell and Mark Graham Wilson. Its highly acclaimed production of Athol Fugard’s Hello and Goodbye toured the country extensively, garnering several awards and nominations along the way.

When The Actors Centre at the then Johannesburg Civic Theatre closed down due to a lack of funding, many young actors found themselves without a creative home. Dorothy ann Gould, founder and artistic director of the centre, decided to continue providing classes for aspiring performers at her house and the Tripletake Studio (a division of Tripletake Productions) was born. Assisted by her Actors Centre colleague Mark Graham Wilson, American actress Andrea Harris Smith and other theatre practitioners, Dorothy built a core of dedicated young actors over a period of three years.

Regular showcases resulted in many of these actors landing roles in television series, commercials and theatre productions.
